The CHURCH of PHILADELPHIA

FOUNDING PASTOR

Rev. Carmine DiBiase

In 1949, he arrived in South Philadelphia by train from Montreal Canada, where he was born and raised by parents who loved and served The Lord.  Being the oldest of ten (10) siblings, he found himself following in his parents footsteps with a passion to do God’s will.  In 1950, he Pastored an Italian church in the area of 16th & McKean Street for nine and  half years.  November 1959, he heard the call, he saw the vision, he obeyed and The Church of Philadelphia was born; an inter-denominational and international Charismatic church.

The beauty of it all, over the years, is to see people from different denominational background, Catholic, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostals, all fellowshipping together – all melted in the unity of the Spirit.  We have literally seen scores pass through our doors, many have moved on to higher heights and today enjoying responsible positions in the Kingdom.

Through the years, he gave God all the glory for the honor, awards, and recognition that have been given for the ministry of God’s purpose.  We are thankful for the wisdom, patience, and energy that God had granted to him to be able to achieve the goal according to His will.  As Saint Paul quoted in Phillippians 3:8 TLB   “ Yes, everything is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord..”
